Ships, Masts, and Sails
The lifeblood of Hong Kong has always been water. On any given day, the harbor, one of the finest deepwater ports in the world, is afloat with most every kind of vessel. Sleek ferries and hydrofoils quickly cut through the waves, giant freighters slowly lumber into the shipyards, and fishing boats with sails bright and billowing cast their nets beneath the currents. Water and boats are part of Hong Kong’s history, development – and its very identity. No matter what else the future holds for Hong Kong, boats will always be on its horizon.
