Theater Mu in Minneapolis takes its name from the Chinese character for the shaman/artist/warrior who connects the heavens and the earth through the tree of life. Melding traditional Asian theater arts forms with Western-style storytelling, the company has staged such works as “The Legend of the White Snake Lady,” based on an ancient Chinese folk legend, and “Song of the Pipa,” which pays homage to a classic Chinese poem.
